TEKsystems SAP PP Consultant in Deerfield, Illinois

Description:
The Client ideally want someone that has worked in the IT planning space, but if they have worked on the business side and not a of ton of IT experience, they are open to that as well. This person can have more experience on the functional side and they can train someone on the configuration side. They want this person to be passionate about planning, SAP, and learning. They are willing to train someone and open to someone with 1-5 years of SAP PP experience. They use Preactor today, but they do not need to have experience with Preactor. They need to be willing to learn Preactor. Also a bonus if they know ServiceNow, because they use ServiceNow for incident management, knowledge based articles, change management, and request management. They use a combination of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall- it just depends on the project. The client is on ECC and they do not have a roadmap for their S4 migration, but this person will be a part of that journey! They have 31 plants live on SAP and 4 plants are not on SAP.
Travel will be covered by the client- if they need to travel.
This person will not be leading the team, they will be an individual contributor.
This person does NOT need FICO- only need to have strong PP module experience.
Typical Day:
• managing tickets/incidents (although usually not too many on the PP side)
• request items such as setting up MRP types, special procurement keys, etc.
• working on small enhancements
• meetings for continuous improvement initiatives in the planning space – we have a larger project where the business is looking at several things, and as needed IT is pulled in for enhancements that come out of this project
• sometimes we have internal projects such as retirements of servers and we need this person to help with testing applications to make sure they still look okay
• we are in a GxP environment, so some changes do require GxP documentation (bonus points if this person know about GxP, otherwise it’s very trainable)
Position Overview:
SAP Production Planning Analyst provides support for the client's SAP processes by analyzing production planning needs and computer systems, making recommendation for changes to the SAP and computer systems, and then expertly manipulating the standard configuration SAP packaged software and third-party applications to perform customizations as necessary to meet the client's business needs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
• Work with minimal supervision with various levels of the client's Business.
• Assist in establishing best practices for the client's business processes and computer systems. Use experience and expertise to suggest improvements to current processes.
• Suggest methods where alternatives may improve or simplify procedures and operations.
• Provide day-to-day support for internal customers.
• Analyze the client's supply chain management processes and recommend how SAP PP module should be configured and customized based on those needs.
• Perform SAP configuration activities in SAP PP module to support daily operations as well as enhancement projects.
• Lead SAP analysis, implementation and customization projects to fulfill business requests for new functionalities and major enhancements. Write Blueprint documents (requirements definition), build detailed project plans, set priorities, assign responsibilities, establish schedules and track progress. Ensure projects are on time, on scope and within budget.
• Document all phases of work. Define and document user requirements including detailed specifications.
• Prepare system change requests. Create usable Work Instructions for the internal customers. Properly communicate status to the management team.
• Maintain a valid test environment. Build repeatable test scenarios scripts that thoroughly test the various business processes.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience , or a related field and 3-plus years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s experience as an SAP Business Analyst, SAP Consultant, or in a closely related occupation involving SAP
• 2-plus years performing design, development, maintenance, and project implementation of SAP business applications.
• 3 years working with SAP PP
• Experience using at least three of the following: Make to Stock and Make to Order in process manufacturing
• Experience performing at least 2 full-cycle SAP implementation or large-scale ERP implementations for manufacturing companies, with configuration responsibilities including PP
