Summary: Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties with a degree of proficiency and/or independence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrated proficiency within shipping, receiving or distribution environment Reads work order or pick tickets or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, moved, or processed. Loads materials into vehicles and installs banding and stretch wrapping to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information or cases or containers. Packs and prepares cartons for shipping to customers. Ensures accuracy or order and security of packaging to avoid damage in shipment. Able to operate all power industrial vehicles (PIVs) including pallet jack, forklift, order picker, reach truck, among others on a regular basis or perform the entry level tasks in the crating department including the ability to use all the machinery and equipment in the crate shop and assemble crates. Able to meet quality and productivity deliverables. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required 3 years of related experience and/or training in the following: using hand tools, power saws, chop saw and measurement tools, operating PIVs (industrial vehicles)and in a shipping and receiving setting.
