Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant in Dassel, Minnesota, 55325, United States. As an Accountant, you will be tasked with managing financial activities, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and providing strategic financial insights.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the accuracy of daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities
• Examine incoming customer order entries for precision and profitability, identifying any discrepancies and promptly resolving issues
• Verify incoming bills with purchase orders and contracts, and ensure vendor payments are processed on time
• Handle invoicing processes and oversee the collection of payments from customers, while monitoring overdue accounts and supervising follow-up actions
• Carry out international accounting transactions semi-monthly, which includes managing prepayments, processing wire payments, and calculating exchange rates
• Spearhead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and collaborating with other departments
• Scrutinize financial data continuously to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and productivity improvements and present actionable recommendations to senior management
• Prepare necessary documentation and analysis for internal and external audits
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, policies, and regulations
• Support company projects, including an upcoming ERP system conversion
• Generate customized financial reports as requested by senior leadership
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and detail-oriented growth among entry level team members by mentoring and guiding them, and ensuring team deadlines are met
• Provide backup support to the company Controller and other team members as needed.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as an Accountant.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Proven track record in Auditing.
• Ability to manage Balance Sheet Accounts effectively.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory.
