DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform sub-journey level work, assist a skilled trades worker, or function as lead worker for a small crew of manual workers performing routine tasks.  Work involves the use of a variety of construction, grounds keeping, and maintenance equipment and tools, which frequently require the application of skills acquired on the job.  Minor repairs and routine grounds keeping and custodial duties are performed with considerable independence and reviewed upon completion.  More advanced construction or repair work is performed under the direction of a skilled trades worker or supervisor.  Specific duties include general maintenance and cleanliness of buildings and recreational areas, landscaping duties, painting, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time, limited-term employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Necessary Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
