About The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Design & Construction Accounting Controller for CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions, where you will work in an ambitious and growing hybrid environment. This contributor leads a team of Controllers and Assistant Controllers who create real estate accounting transactions and handle the production of various financial reports and statements for development projects.
What You'll Do:
Review deliverables, including financial packages, to ensure accurate, timely delivery to clients.
Review and create property budgets and forecasting for assigned portfolios.
Communicate requests to senior management and understand the scope of accounting services for the portfolio's properties.
Prepare and review financial statement packages, including creating and posting journal entries, ensuring cash receipts and expense payables are recorded, handling funding requests, handling owner's distributions, and other transactions to ensure deliverables are complete.
Prepare and review detailed workpapers.
Supervise the preparation of development cost reports. Collaboratively establish approved budget.
Reconcile PM Web reports to general ledger and loan draws.
Lead projects including purchase/sale pro rations, property software setups, opening/closing entry generations, and maintenance of Policy & Procedure manuals.
Partner with the team according to the requirements and terms of the client's Management Agreement.
Mentor colleagues on financial reporting functions and duties.
Coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a project.

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance and 8+ years of relevant accounting experience is required.
Experience with real estate accounting software such as Yardi is preferred.
Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
Ability to effectively present information.
Requires sophisticated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations including financial terms and principles to include accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP).
Conducts sophisticated financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
