This position will support our Payroll team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.

Summary

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Tax and Garnishment Specialist to manage payroll tax setups, reconciliations, and garnishment processing within our SAP and ADP systems. This role is responsible for setting up tax jurisdictions, preparing tax vouchers, ensuring accurate and timely payroll deductions, and complying with legal withholding orders for garnishments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced in payroll tax management, and proficient in using SAP and ADP systems for efficient processing and compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tax Setup and Maintenance : Request setup of new tax jurisdictions and monitor all tax rates within SAP and ADP to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Voucher Preparation : Prepare tax vouchers for payment through ADP, ensuring accuracy in tax amounts and payment schedules.

  • Reconciliation : Regularly reconcile ADP payments to SAP to maintain consistency and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Audit and Monitoring : Conduct audits of tax setups within SAP to verify accuracy, compliance, and adherence to organizational policies.

  • Garnishment Processing : Handle court-ordered garnishments, including those for child support, student loans, and tax levies. Ensure garnishments are accurate, compliant with legal requirements, and processed in a timely manner.

  • Payroll Deduction Reports : Ensure that payroll deduction reports for taxes and garnishments are accurate and delivered on schedule.

  • Entry and Backup Support : Assist with the entry of garnishment orders into SAP, acting as backup support when necessary.

  • Special Projects : Contribute to special projects and perform other duties as assigned to support the payroll department’s overall efficiency and compliance goals.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university or college preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll tax and garnishment processing.

  • Proficiency in SAP and ADP payroll systems.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as garnishment laws.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work accurately under deadlines.
