Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for the Head of Regulatory Affairs, this is a fantastic opportunity to lead the team and ensure that the Nestle Regulatory & Scientific Affairs strategy is consistently implemented in the local organisation. Working closely with our well-known brands within Nestlé, including Nescafe, KitKat, Nesquik, Maggi, Shreddies and Quality Street to name just a few.

This is a busy and challenging opportunity, with great exposure throughout the business. As the Head of Regulatory Affairs, you work closely with the local and global group regulatory team, applying your regulatory knowledge and advocacy expertise to advance business opportunities.

A day in the life of Head of Regulatory Affairs

The Head of Regulatory Affairs is an important role for our business and will have high levels of exposure to both internal and external stakeholders. You will be the bridge between us and the authorities, and trade associations. Working to support and align national regulations to global standards e.g., Codex meetings.

You’ll also:

  • Maintain trust in our brands and services by delivering safe and compliant products and transparent consumer communications.

  • Lead and develop a results-driven and high performing team who excel in regulatory compliance.

  • Regular liaison with UK and Global Partner Regulatory Affairs leads with a focus on strategic issues, to future proof the business and enable commercial growth.

  • Analyse complex regulatory framework and conceptualise regulatory opportunities for new product development at early stage of I&R (through knowledge of regulatory trends and new regulatory developments).

  • Encourage team to develop a positive attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset, working collaboratively with cross functional teams eg. Business Units, Application Groups, Nutrition, Legal and Public Affairs.

What will make you successful

To be successful for this exciting opportunity you will already have a proven track record in regulatory roles in the food industry. Other competencies include

  • Significant relationships and experience in dealing directly with notified bodies, competent authorities, industry bodies and trade associations.

  • A proven track record of leading and developing a team of specialists in different areas of the market.

  • You will be able to evidence building and implementing strategy and understand how your decisions impact the wider business, and the ability to influence without authority for the best business outcome

  • You’ll also have great communication skills that enable you to develop positive stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
