CITY OF CORTEZ Lead Lifeguard in Cortez, Colorado
Lead Lifeguard
DUTIES: Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
Inspect the facility daily and reports any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
Lead staff through regular in-service training.
Scans aquatic complex and monitors patron actions for safety and appropriate behavior.
Completes records and reports. Cleans and maintains restrooms.
Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level.
Be able to teach swim lessons.
Have the ability to work under adverse conditions for extended periods of time to include: noise, fumes, and hazardous materials. Indoor and outdoor facility, irregular work hours, water and slippery surfaces. Light lifting, and sitting for long periods of time.
Requirements: Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid, American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Must pass pre-employment testing for lifeguarding skills and knowledge. Proven skills in lifeguarding, first aid and CPR Prefer one year of customer service and aquatics/lifeguard experience.
WAGE: $17.71-$26.79 per hour
SHIFTS: Hiring both part time & full time position. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours are flexible and will be discussed at interview.
JOB SITE: Cortez
