Robert Half Payroll Manager in Cordova, Tennessee

Description We are in search of a Payroll Manager to join our team based in Cordova, Tennessee. This role is focused on overseeing the processing of both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, handling sensitive payroll information, and providing payroll services and support to all employees. Additionally, the position includes payroll-related accounting duties and close collaboration with the Human Resources department.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of weekly and bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate and efficient processing. • Act as the primary liaison for payroll communication, updates, issues, and questions, working closely with third-party payroll processors and employees. • Process off-cycle and manual checks for terminations, resignations, and voids in compliance with pay laws. • Handle various payroll adjustments, including garnishments, PTO, vacation and sick pay, and bonuses. • Ensure accurate local, state, and Federal tax withholdings for employees, setting up or closing local/state tax accounts as needed. • Assist the accounting team with reconciling payroll accounts and ensuring integrity in file transfers from the payroll system to the general ledger. • Develop, document, and enforce payroll processing procedures, implementing internal controls to ensure adherence. • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll. • Review and process all requests for employment verification. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to ensure regulatory compliance. • Collaborate closely with the Human Resources team to complete necessary steps required for payroll processing. • Drive departmental objectives through active participation in onsite meetings and collaboration with onsite teams. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll supervisory or managerial role

• Proficient in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with bi-Monthly Payroll and Benefits Payroll processing

• Holds a Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) certification

• Demonstrated experience with Full Cycle Payroll

• Proficient in handling Multi-state Payroll

• Knowledgeable in Payroll - Garnishments and Payroll - Multi-State

• Experience with Payroll Management of over 500 employees

• Proficient in using Payroll software, specifically Paycom

• Experience with Payroll Tax Reporting and Payroll Tax Returns

• Ability to process Biweekly Payroll and reconcile Payroll

• Familiarity with multi-state payroll laws and regulations.
