Robert Half Certified Payroll Specialist in Coppell, Texas

Description

We are seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist with experience in government construction projects to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in certified payroll processing, compliance with federal/state labor regulations, and government reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, accurate payroll delivery and compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Manage and process weekly certified payroll for construction projects in compliance with prevailing wage laws, including those governed by Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA).

  • Government Compliance: Submit accurate and timely payroll reports to government agencies, ensuring adherence to all applicable labor regulations.

  • Record Maintenance: Maintain detailed and organized payroll records for audits and inspections, including certified payroll reports, fringe benefit documentation, and employee classifications.

  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile payroll records regularly and provide summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and government representatives regarding payroll inquiries or discrepancies.

  • Audits and Reviews: Support internal and external payroll audits related to government or prevailing wage work.

  • System Navigation: Utilize payroll systems and construction management tools to ensure accurate data entry and reporting (e.g., ERP systems, certified payroll software).

    Requirements

  • Certification in payroll, such as the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent.

  • Experience with Viewpoint and LCP Tracker preferred

  • Experience with Excel Pivot Tables and Vlookups highly preferred

  • Minimum of [Insert Years of Experience] years of experience processing payroll, with a focus on construction and government contracts.

  • Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, Davis-Bacon Act, and government-funded construction project requirements.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in union payroll and multi-state tax regulations.

  • Familiarity with labor compliance software such as LCPtracker or similar platforms.

  • Background in financial reporting or project accounting within the construction industry.
