Job Summary and Qualifications

The Endoscopy Tech works collaboratively with the physician, staff and other departments as a team to provide comprehensive care for the patient to promote positive patient outcomes. He/she must always focus on providing excellent customer service for all of our customers, as well as follow the HCA ethics and compliance standards, and mission and vision statement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

E1. Maintains competency in performing skills as outlined in the Ambulatory Care Checklist (as appropriate).

E2. Actively participates in quality improvement activities on a daily basis to promote positive patient outcomes. Works collaboratively with other staff, physicians, Nurse Manager, and Charge Nurse to constantly improve the quality of care.

E3. Assists nurses with invasive procedures and endoscopies as needed.

E4. Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice.

E5. Maintains clear and respectful communication with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers. Practices excellent customer service at all times.

E6. Responsible for direction of emergent/urgent care in crisis situation in a calm, knowledgeable manner.

E7. Responsible for working with other staff as a team to promote an efficient, well organized unit, which expedites excellent care in order to meet all of the needs of the patients.

E8. Assists Nurse Manager with maintenance of equipment and supplies needed to care for patients adequately and reports broken/unsafe equipment so that repairs can be made quickly to ensure patient safety. Sends out equipment for repair and follows-up.

E9. Collaborates with Charge Nurse and other departments by coordinating care and procedures on a daily basis, as well as assists with the development implementation, and evaluation of new programs.

E10. Adheres to and complies with HCA's ethics and compliance policies in the Code of Conduct. Attends annual training sessions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: Previous Patient Care Tech or healthcare experience preferred

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
