Pharmacy Intern - Inpatient Pharmacy (P1 - Class off 2028) Requisition ID 2024-52100 Category Allied Health Overview Pharmacy Intern - Inpatient Pharmacy (P1 - Class of 2028) The Pharmacy Intern responsibilities include aiding pharmacists in the processing, preparation, and dispensing of medication orders, sterile and non-sterile products, hazardous medication, TPNs, nursing supplies, and the delivery of these products to nursing units. The intern also assists with clinical tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist by performing medication reconciliation for Emergency Department patients, clinical patient care at Behavioral Health Pavilion, and other clinical duties as assigned. Pharmacy interns are required to work an average of 10-12 hours/week during the school year and 32 hours/week over the summer. The intern is expected to engage in professional development activities and meetings, as designated by the intern's assigned supervisor. Summers are spent growing and developing your future pharmacist skills set through extensive training, professional projects, presentations and shadowing various pharmacists. Responsibilities Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of and compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards and other regulatory requirements, which allow safe and accurate preparation and/or compounding of unit-dose medications (both oral and IV), including reconstitution when applicable.
