As Process Chemistry Team Leader you will take on responsibility for all the essential functions like ensuring full compliance with laws and regulations and running labs efficiently. You will coordinate all lab operations at your specific site.

Job Puepose: To maintain a high standard of technical excellence in the introduction of small molecule API  processes being introduced to the pilot plant. . To maintain oversight of critical quality and safety requirements delivered through batch and cleaning record documentation as well as equipment cleaning and release for manufacturing. To ensure plant schedule and campaign plans make optimal use of plant capacity.

Key Responsibilities: .  . Leads a team of process chemists/engineers by ensuring clarity of objectives, fostering an inclusive team environment, and driving personal development. Accountable for  training and competency of the team in delivery of GMP manufacturing activities. . Drives alignment with local and global Drug Substance Development partners. Leads a diverse team of  process chemists/engineers to provide scientific & technical expertise to the organization in all aspects of pilot plant campaigns: scheduling, determination of plant time, equipment requirements, raw material requirements, resolution of safety issues and all necessary campaign planning meetings, including the Process Risk Assessment and required documentation. Drives achievable and ambitious campaign scheules that optimize utilization of plant capacity. Builds capability within the team to deliver  increased technical accountability  and ownership for technical aspects of projects coming into the facility. Provide integrated knowledge and expert advice on scale-up, cGMP and safe operation to project teams and technical transfer teams. Ensures high quality of batch documentation used to support manufacturing and cleaning within the facility and is accountable for control of equipment cleaning/handover in a multiproduct facility. Identifies and leads continuous improvement of processes across pilot plant activities at UP, looking to increase productivity, quality and safety outputs. Champion efforts to create a culture focused on continuous improvement of safety,  quality and manufacturing performance.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

A minimum of BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Experience with scale-up and tech tanfer of small molecule manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Good understanding of organic chemistry or chemical engineering as applied to scale up of chemical reactions. Ability to build an inclusive team environment. Ability to navigate  high levels  ambiguity and drive continuous improvement. Proficient in effective verbal and written communication Demonstrated ability of leading and driving scientific or technical processes to success Proven ability to organize and lead a diverse, cross-functional group. Proven ability to work collaboratively across boundaries and  proactively engage with key stakeholders and partner groups. Strong  project management skills, including influencing and leading within matrix team environments.
