The Hertz Corporation Manager, Materials in College Park, Georgia
The Materials Manager will play a crucial role in reducing vehicle downtime and repair costs. They will supervise all parts processes within their location to include parts orders, inventory, and reconciling of bills. They will be responsible for implementing division level parts processes within their local market, ensuring compliance to internal practices and audit.
This role will be forward thinking with a constant mindset on inventory levels and thresholds to reduce vehicle down time while optimizing local parts spend. They will research and troubleshoot backordered parts and utilize dealer search, used parts, and all other approved methods to expedite acquiring backordered parts. Finally, they will communicate with Supervisors, Managers, and clerks to get the right part to the right tech.
Starting salary is $54K; commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsible for accurate inventory of Parts and Tires, meeting all audit requirements and internal practices as well as manage obsolete, returns, and liquidation of parts as needed
Must maintain internal inventory keeping system (EAM) with up-to-date parts information and needs to allow tracking of work orders within the location
Will track backordered parts and work within their authority to expedite or streamline deliveryCreate and Receive Purchase Orders related to the parts process
Order and maintain all stocking parts, such as tires, oil, filters, etc. needed to allow standard operation and minimize shop downtime based upon previous usage
Secondary responsibilities include filling in as needed in maintenance operation, working with all maintenance staff including clerks to meet or exceed all maintenance goals
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Professional Experience:
2+ years in a management or supervisory role overseeing inventory and direct reports
1+ years in dealership parts department preferred
Knowledge:
General understanding of maintenance practices (preventative and warranty preferred)
Previous parts ordering experience
Skills:
Complex problem-solving skills; proven ability to solve problems independently.
Must have excellent multi-tasking and verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to manage, develop and motivate staff.
Must be computer savvy with an emphasize on Microsoft Excel
Ability to locate and search out back ordered parts
Locate and develop new venders to generate better discounts, service, and weekend deliveries
Must be able to work flexible shifts including; weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
