Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk

Job Description

The Inventory Control Clerk monitors and verifies that all products sent to Manufacturing are accurately entered into the system and the quantities are correct. The role involves performing physical counts, conducting bin checks to ensure items are correctly located, and overseeing the distribution of labels from stock cages.

Responsibilities

  • Direct carriers to the appropriate dock.

  • Manage data and tickets as required.

  • Transfer products from inventory to the appropriate production area and make adjustments in the WMS system.

  • Provide various administrative support throughout the warehouse.

  • Produce all daily receiving paperwork for incoming and outgoing deliveries, verifying BOL and PO for accuracy and distributing to warehouse associates/supervisors.

  • Collect all receiving paperwork from warehouse and quality associates, enter necessary data into WMS, and file tickets as necessary.

  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

  • Assist in the receiving and warehouse areas as needed.

  • Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in inventory control, shipping and receiving, and material handling.

  • Knowledge of RF scan systems.

  • Experience operating reach and hi-lows.

  • Understanding of FIFO/FEFO systems.

  • Ability to work off pick lists and system-driven reports.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual in Spanish required.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with others.

  • Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and able to operate under pressure.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent mathematical skills.

  • Understanding and application of safety rules and regulations.

  • Ability to use warehouse equipment such as rolling ladders, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English and Spanish.

  • Basic mathematics and computer skills (data entry, email).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Sheets.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • High School Diploma and one year of warehousing operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years minimum experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can occasionally be high. Products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts, milk, and tree nuts. The role includes working in both office space and on the receiving dock. There are openings on the first shift (7 AM-3:30 PM) and the second shift (3 PM-11:30 PM). Candidates should be flexible to work either shift as they may be asked to switch. Overtime will vary week to week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clifton, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
