What we're looking for...

Based in our Cleveland Headquarters and reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Controller, the International Controller is responsible for the Company’s International (non-U.S.) financial and cost accounting, financial reporting (including applicable statutory reporting), credit and collections, accounts payable, tax, treasury, and budgeting. This includes monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company’s global accounting policies and maintaining a strong and effective internal control environment. This individual will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process ensuring timely, accurate reporting of our international financial results.

The International Controller will support all accounting guidance and make necessary changes to ensure compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Further, this leader will identify, implement, and monitor process improvement initiatives to enhance and improve the International Finance Team’s efficiency, financial accuracy, and analytical capabilities. This individual will ensure a culture of continuous improvement, implementing processes, tools, and systems that translate financial data into meaningful and actionable insights.

Expectations & Accountabilities ...

  • Coordinate and review all international monthly financial reports;

  • Oversee and optimize all aspects of financial and cost accounting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS;

  • Ensure and coordinate the proper review and oversight of all International monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting;

  • Support and ensure all annual audit and tax processes are completed, resulting in timely filings with all required target dates;

  • Acquire, lead, coach, train, and develop the International Finance Team.

  • Resource planning, training, career development, performance management, and succession planning to ensure the application of talent and performance management best practices within the International Finance Team function;

  • Utilize all available resources, tools, and systems that create and maintain a culture of empowerment and accountability;

  • Ensure Oatey values (Collaboration, Integrity, Respect, Courage, Leadership, Excellence) are modelled throughout the International Finance Team function.

What you'll need to be successful...

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience leading finance/accounting teams;

  • Accounting and financial reporting experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment;

  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS;

  • Competent with Microsoft Office suite, major Enterprise Resource Systems and other accounting software (OneStream);

  • Demonstrated coaching, leadership, and change agent capabilities;

  • Capable of working effectively in an environment with ongoing strategic and tactical demands and change;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Demonstrated alignment with Oatey values (Collaboration, Integrity, Respect, Courage, Leadership, Excellence).

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required;

Qualifications that will set you apart ...

  • Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent preferred.
