FORKLIFT OPERATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION
FORKLIFT OPERATOR Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm $15.50per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assignedplaces
- Locate and move stock of products for storage orshipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or qualitydeficiencies
- Check loads are secure by using proper lock loads inside thetruck
- Place identification labels to pallets or mark them with identifying information.
- Practices safe and secure environment, reporting to a supervisor any observed issues (i.e.food safety, physical safety, environment, equipment)
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance. Check water levels of the equipment batteries.
- Keep updated records of inventory and activitylogs
- Comply with company policies and legalguidelines
- Practices and observes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Meet the requirements of HACCP, Food Safety Standard (BRC), FSMA and C-TPATguidelines
- Stack empty pallets
- Transport raw materials to production workstations
- Repack and inspectproduct
- Preforms other duties asassigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GEDpreferred
- 1 year of experience related to the industry or combination of 3 yearsexperience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Proven experience as forklift operator
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrialequipment
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe workenvironment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keepingrecords
- Valid certification to operateforklifts
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances andheights
- Knowledgeable about the operation of office equipment (computer, fax,copierand other office equipment)
- Ability to work various shifts to meet the needs of thebusiness
- Able to work overtime if required bycompany
- Must report to work on time and on yourschedule
- Able to make decisions and work well withothers
- Work under pressure of time and deadlines
- Knowledgeable about Warehouse Management Systems, RF devices, warehouse inventory controls and records of transactions.
- Must be able to follow either written or oral instructions to perform assignedactivities
- Excellent skills to handle product in rack systems, preferable experienced in dynamic racksystems
- Excellent shills to drive stand-up reachforklifts
