Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, and Division of General Surgery is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide wound care patient care services in the outpatient clinic sites at UC Health. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to provide excellent patient care. The candidate will assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients. This position will be focused on seeing wound care patients in the outpatient setting, predominately at the Daniel Drake Center for Post Acute Care and Rehabilitation but may be asked to hold clinic at West Chester and/or the Medical Arts Building at the Clifton campus. Work schedule is five days per week. Essential Functions Evaluate and treat patients with wound care related conditions to include debridements, pressure wounds, unna boots, etc. Collect developmental history and physical examination of wound care patients. Maintain accurate records. Assist in peer-to-peer review for insurance approval of imaging studies. Participate in research and development projects. Assist with returning calls regarding clinical inquiries. Perform related duties based on departmental need. Minimum Requirements Nurse Practitioner: Required Education Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty. Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience. Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty. -OR- Physician Assistant: Required Education Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Required Experience Minimum of one (1) year experience is required. Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty. Additional Qualifications Considered Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON).
