Position Summary and Purpose: Operate a lift truck to transport products and materials throughout the facility, and stock parts or material on appropriate shelf or area
Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL:
Receive work assignment from lead person, supervisors, or person requesting service; move materials within shop or yard area of varying level of congestion
Lift parts and materials with fork truck; transports and unloads in designated location
Locate and deliver boxes, parts, etc. as required, mark location on production order and deliver to appropriate stock location, area, or person
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures
Education and Experience:
REQUIRED:
High school diploma or certificate of equivalency
Prior forklift experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.
REQUIRED:
Ability to multitask in a busy manufacturing environment
Willingness to learn new tasks
Basic reading and writing skills
Basic keyboarding and PC experience

Tools, Technology and Equipment Used: Fork truck, Side Loader, computer, 2-way radio, power and hand tools, pallets and wood blocks
Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms, and climbing ladders daily. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
