Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support for United’s scheduled maintenance programs. Must be able to understand, analyze and seek solutions to enhance the design, efficiency and execution of the maintenance program, performance of aircraft and their components. Should be able to logically approach problem solving, support evolution of an aircraft maintenance program and ensure a safe and legal operation. As a United Engineer you will also evaluate the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure a balance of cost, assets utilization. You will be responsible for working with both internal and external customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations and failure investigations.

  • Review OEM documentation impacting the scheduled maintenance program, including MRBR, MPD, STC, ICA and implement changes as required

  • Develops solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis and overall management of project implementation which can include obtaining FAA approvals

  • Organize and manage the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplish the work process to meet all deliverables for projects on schedule

  • Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency

NOTE: This position is based at the CSC - Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL. and considered as a hybrid work-schedule working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office. However, that may evolve with the needs of the company.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • B.S Degree in Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent experience

  • 3 to 8 years of engineering experience

  • Engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs and engines

  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues, detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance

  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Maintenance check engineering experience on Boeing/Airbus aircraft

  • Boeing /Airbus Structures I, Airframe/Powerplant License or E license

  • Knowledge of FARS (especially 145, 25 and 121)

  • Knowledge of MSG3 Methodology and Maintenance Program Concepts

  • Strong skills in MS office applications

The base pay range for this role is $97,945.00 to $133,540.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
