Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role involves a mix of preventive maintenance, reactive troubleshooting, and thorough documentation of repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with equipment such as gearboxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors.
Responsibilities
Repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on various equipment, including gearboxes, motors, pumps, conveyors, box creators, tapers, mixers, blenders, and roasters.
Identify issues with blown fuses and reset breakers.
Manage all pieces of equipment through proper preventive maintenance (PMs).
Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
Understand the root cause of machine breakdowns and problem-solve to prevent long-term issues.
Perform tear downs, installs, and rebuilds of equipment.
Document all repairs throughout the day using an internal WMS database.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Identify issues with blown fuses and resetting breakers.
Experience troubleshooting and taking apart 480V motors.
Experience using a computer to log repairs and PMs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in the chocolate industry.
Electrical certification.
Experience with Maximo software.
Knowledge of Food/GMP practices.

Work Environment
You will be working in a clean GMP liquid chocolate factory. The environment is hot due to the production of liquid chocolate. The dress code includes a smock, hairnet, beard net, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots. The shift schedule is B Shift: Sunday to Tuesday from 6pm to 6am and Wednesday from 6pm to 12am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
