Job Description
Assistant Director, Mental Health and Wellness
The Assistant Director of Mental Health and Wellness is responsible for the development of a comprehensive, campus-wide approach to mental health education and awareness, including the creation and implementation of a plan to promote student emotional wellbeing, increase community awareness of student mental health, and train community members on suicide prevention.
In addition:
Through the Well & Whole Initiative, this role assists the Director and consults with faculty and staff to infuse mental health and wellness into the classroom and work across the University.
This person will administer and monitor progress of all first-year students’ completion of a required mental health module.
The Assistant Director works closely with a Graduate Assistant who develops, manages, and implements social media marketing and promotion, strategies, and health communication.
The Assistant Director also engages in regular assessment activities and completes monthly and annual reports, and develops and implements training.
In order to create a more inclusive community within the Division of Student Affairs, each staff member is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $63,800 to $79,750; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
This role requires a Master’s degree in higher education, health education, health promotion, public health, social work, counseling, or a related field.
1 year of experience in health or education field, public health, mental health counseling, social work, higher education; experience working with college students
