Clements Fluids is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our facilities. We are looking for a sharp mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician that can troubleshoot various mechanical and equipment repair needs through rebuilding, routine maintenance, and emergency maintenance scenarios.

The right candidate for our Maintenance Technician will have an oil field equipment maintenance and/or mechanical background with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment such as motors (electric and diesel), pumps, forklifts, tanks, valves, and other plant-related equipment as needed daily. Because our maintenance needs at the Charlotte plant do not require full time maintenance care, the person in this role should also plan to serve as a part time plant technician as needed to assist fluid technicians in mixing products, keeping up with fluid loss, managing warehouse duties, loading and unloading chemicals, and operating a forklift.
Ideally, you will have experience to be responsible for the following areas:
Equipment & Facility Reliability – Ensuring Optimal Operational Performance
Maintain all plant equipment to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plant equipment to detect potential issues early.
Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition and immediately address hazards.
Assist in maintaining facility infrastructure, including tanks, valves, and piping systems.
Work collaboratively with plant personnel and maintenance leadership to address operational needs.
Preventive Maintenance – Maximizing Equipment Lifespan & Efficiency
Follow a structured preventive maintenance schedule to extend the life of critical equipment and reduce unplanned failures.
Adhere to rigorous PM schedules for key equipment, including:
Centrifugal pumps
Pump motors (diesel and electric)
Forklifts
Portable mixing units
Tanks (carbon steel, fiberglass), valves, and piping manifolds
Document maintenance activities and report any concerns to the Maintenance Technician Manager.
Follow safety protocols and best practices when executing maintenance tasks.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Identifying & Resolving Equipment Issues
Systematically assess mechanical failures to restore equipment functionality and optimize performance.
Diagnose mechanical and operational failures in plant systems and equipment.
Identify inefficiencies in mechanical components and recommend corrective actions.
Utilize troubleshooting methodologies to determine root causes of malfunctions.
Collaborate with team members to resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively.
Major & Minor Repairs – Restoring & Enhancing Equipment Performance
Perform critical repair tasks to maintain plant reliability and efficiency.
Rebuild and install/swaps centrifugal pumps as needed.
Conduct diesel engine repairs and rebuilds to support continuous plant operations.
Perform minor electrical repairs, including wiring and component replacements.
Execute valve replacements and routine general repairs to maintain system integrity.
Conduct minor welding, fitting, and fabrication tasks as required.
Technical Support & Training – Assisting in Maintenance Operations
Support plant technicians in developing technical skills and completing maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
Lead plant technicians in assisting with ongoing maintenance projects.
Train plant personnel to identify and perform basic repairs as needed.
Guide technicians on proper techniques and skills required for various maintenance tasks.
Provide hands-on assistance and support the completion of maintenance projects in collaboration with the team.
Other:
Must possess valid driver’s license and have, as well as maintain, a clear driving record.
Willing to travel to other plant locations occasionally (West Texas)
Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing.
