Boise Cascade Company Forklift Operator - FORKL004134 in Chapman, Alabama
- Completes mobile equipment report at the beginning of the shift, notify Supervisor about any problems
- Cleans and blows down forklift at the end of the shift
- Demonstrates knowledge of forklift rules
- Stacks and marks units neatly, with proper crossout placement and in proper rows
- Observes for any mechanical problems with forklifts and reports them to the shift Supervisor
- Keeps shifts wood separated by thickness
- Keeps Dry Veneer warehouse organized
- Ensures Composers do not run out or block out at any time
- Assists in loading and unloading Lay-up Line and Presses, as needed
- Properly marks all loads of core
- Ensures proper rotation of veneer stock
- Breaks out Composer Operators during shift
- Ensures core saw area is kept clean
- Ensures all reclaim buggies are kept empty and all usable veneer is reclaimed
- Keeps 4x4 runners picked up off the floor
- Provides input to supervisor on any mechanical issues
- Looks for ways to improve efficiency and uptime and makes recommendations to Supervisor
- Sweeps up saw dust and veneer scraps with a push broom
- Picks up scraps of veneer with shovel, rake, or by hand
- Paints various plant equipment and materials (barriers, framework, guards, etc.)
- Mops floors, scrubs sinks, toilets, water fountains, and other equipment with brushes and rags
- Washes windows using brushes and rags
- Keeps the trash dumpster in front of the break room empty
- Follows Company policies, procedures and safety rules
