SAIC is looking for a Software Systems Engineer to support a very dynamic and innovative space program in Chantilly, VA. In this position, you will gain experience with acquiring and deploying the next-generation of space assets including first of a kind satellite constellations with ground-breaking technology. Job Responsibilities:
Work across the customer’s organization to help elaborate on the system architecture, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives and create a continuous delivery pipeline
Create tactical and strategic roadmaps that outline the steps and milestones needed to implement architectural solutions and address business challenges effectively
Maintain Integrated Master Schedule
Develop technical recommendations and high-level design documents that provide clear guidance on technology solutions, including architecture, components and integration strategies
Prepare and communicate a wide range of strategic, detailed workflow charts, models, tools and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operational
Provide proactive support to the Government customer and tasks in an integrated office environment (Government Customer and SAIC)
Participate in full lifecycle acquisition and SE activities from pre-acquisition through launch and requirement sell-off
Author, review, and coordinate documents, briefings and data to aid the Government in communications and decision-making
Maintain a solid understanding of system CONOPS to include numerous tools needed for system tasking, data file transfers, collection statistics
Develop and direct forms of architecture artifacts to include systems diagrams and interface control documents
Write or contribute to instructions or user manuals to guide end users
Oversee and direct software development using Agile Software Development or DevOps methodologies
Develop and direct requirement VA/SCs, software system testing and validation procedures, and sell-off documentation
Identify and mitigate architectural risks and issues, ensuring the stability and security of systems and applications
Maintain solid understanding of data flows, data infrastructure, data repositories, data security, and data catalogues using AWS services
Develop productive relationships with Contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts
Maintain strong knowledge and experience in SQL using various database platforms such as Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, MS SQLServer, SQL Azure, or similar cloud service equivalents (e.g AWS RDS or Azure SQL)
Maintain solid understanding of system capabilities
Maintain solid understanding of AWS and Github
Qualifications
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
Bachelors or Masters and related experience
Experience with NRO systems preferred
Available to travel domestically
