Fortive Corporation Business Intelligence and Data Architect Intern Summer 2025 (PacSci) in Chandler, Arizona

Position Overview

As a Business Intelligence and Data Architect Intern, you will play a key role in leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Fabric) to drive business transformation. You will work closely with our experienced data and analytics team to design, develop, and implement data solutions that integrate with our existing ERP and other systems. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about data, automation, and technology, and who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and design effective BI solutions using the Power Platform.

  • Develop and maintain Power Apps applications to streamline business processes and enhance user experiences.

  • Create and manage Power Automate workflows to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

  • Design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Assist in building integrations between the Power Platform and our existing ERP system, as well as other internal and external systems.

  • Work with ETL tools to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to support data analysis and reporting needs.

  • Contribute to the design and architecture of our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

  • Work with both structured and unstructured data to develop comprehensive data solutions.

  • Utilize AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to extract intelligence and analytics insights from diverse data sets.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data architecture, business intelligence, and the Power Platform.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Fabric) is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of SQL Server and database technologies.

  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud computing.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Passion for data, automation, and technology-driven solutions.

  • Previous experience with ERP systems and integrating them with other platforms is a plus.

  • Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance concepts.

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Must be willing to work onsite at our Chandler, AZ location

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 41,600.00 - 83,200.00
