Douglas County Government Special Services Supervisor in Castle Rock, Colorado
OVERVIEW: This is a professional level supervisory position that oversees and directs prevention services, kinship navigation, and family engagement. This position provides direct supervision over professional social caseworkers and other child welfare staff.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services plus 4 years of social work experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Master's degree preferred. In order to meet the minimum educational requirements of a human behavioral sciences degree, the applicant must have a degree with major course work (equivalent to 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, or child development. Individual must successfully complete (or be waived by the Colorado Department of Human Services) all mandatory child welfare supervisor training within the first four (4) months of employment. Must maintain the required 40 hours annual child welfare training. Individual must complete any State or County required child welfare or adult protection training.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment.
