General Purpose
Work closely with management teams, and craft employee to drive safety improvement.
Provide safety training, perform accident investigations, and provide lessons learned.
Research, analyze, develop and implement new strategies and/or programs in response to changing internal and external conditions.
Responsibilities
• Provide guidance and support to union and non-union employees on program and procedure development.
• Work with health and safety specialists, industrial hygienist, trainers and operations personnel to develop hazard recognition and mitigation procedures.
• Effectively manage projects; ensure delivery of program commitments
• Gather, analyze and summarize health and safety data.
• Provide alternatives and recommendations regarding development or enhancement of programs or processes.
• Provide advice and counsel to management and client organizations.
• Implements safety programs as required.
• Perform job-site visits to remote work locations.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or a related field; the equivalent combination of education and experience, or craft background in an electric utility related field.A minimum of five years of professional experience.
• An understanding and experience with administering a comprehensive occupational health program, safety program auditing, and hands on industrial safety.
• A thorough understanding of governmental compliance requirements along with the ability to train and coach on occupational health issues is required.
• Expected to cross-train to gain proficiency in Industrial Hygiene and general safety, to become familiar with OSHA regulations, and become knowledgeable in company safety rules and requirements.
• 30-40% travel is required.
Additional Requirements of the Senior Level include:
• A minimum of seven years of professional experience.
Preferences
• For applicants with a craft background, preference will be given to those with experience in leadership roles.
• Utility or construction experience is preferred but not required.
• Clean driving record.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15% of salary.
