MetLife Full Stack Software Engineer in Cary, North Carolina
Duties: Design, develop, implement and maintain solutions based on enterprise-wide standards, processes and data to reduce risk and promote efficiencies in support of business goals and objectives. Collaborate with Scrum lead, product owner and ART leadership, lead the collection and documentation of user requirements, and analyze, design and drive solutions for major components and features, applying knowledge of database technologies and solutions, including SQL and NoSQL. Implement enterprise caliber web and backend solutions to ensure secure and high code quality across entire team. Build, deliver and operate complex systems, investigate and resolve production management incidents, problems and service requests, and interface with key stakeholders and business leaders. Work with cross-functional teams for delivery and mentor junior software engineers.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience building, delivering and operating complex, cloud-based systems. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section) -- must possess the following: performing application development using Java, Spring Boot and related technologies; designing components and features, using database technologies and solutions, including SQL and NoSQL; mentoring junior software engineers; performing DevOps practices for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps; and performing web development using JavaScript, Typescript or PHP. Hybrid - 3 days in office/2 days remote.
