    Job Description

SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Chemistry, to provide comprehensive administrative support and perform complex and diverse duties in support of principal investigators (PIs) and their respective research group. Will be responsible for a variety of activities, including monitoring budgets, managing faculty schedules, coordinating events, supporting academic courses, preparing documents, purchasing supplies, coordinating travel, developing and maintaining webpages, and helping process group members’ appointments. Will be expected to develop in-depth knowledge of the Institute and other departments’ policies and procedures in order to anticipate and initiate actions regarding office operations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years of related administrative/office experience; excellent analytical, problem-solving, editorial, time management, organizational, interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; and strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, Drupal, and FileMaker Pro. Must be able to prioritize and manage tasks under the pressure of deadlines and despite frequent interruptions; interact effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors; work both independently and as part of a team; maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and interpret, communicate, and apply policies and procedures. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree, experience maintaining websites and creating newsletters, and knowledge of grant submission and budgets. Job #24189-67/1/24
