PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Our Canadian defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans and US retirement plans provide important financial security for employees and beneficiaries, which is a key factor in attracting and retaining talented railroaders at CPKC. As an administrator of several retirement plans, we are the first point of contact for our employees and retirees assisting them with any inquiries related to their retirement plans, validating pension data, and performing pension benefits calculation.
This is a full-time, permanent position located in our head office in Calgary, Alberta, reporting to the Manager Pension Services.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Handle plan member and former member specific inquires related to the Plan provisions, pension benefits and post-retirement benefits
Prepare and handle retirement, termination, death and surviving spouse pension benefits
Process reinstatement files
Handle pension payroll and health benefits related items
Maintain accurate employee pension data on HR database
Calculate pension required contributions, shortage and overage and coordinate payment recovery from employees and LTD providers
Assist in maintaining user manuals and associated forms
Other related duties as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a Pension/HR/Payroll administration capacity
Ability to work in a computer-based environment involving multiple software packages, such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, SAP, pension administration programs and query tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Bilingual English/French would be an asset
Work effectively in a team environment
Adhere to Confidentiality Rules and Regulations dealing with personal information
Strong organizational and time management skills
