Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Welder for the 2nd shift from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The position involves welding tasks and rotating through different departments, including robot welding, cleaning, and production welding on metals. Compensation is based on experience, ranging from $18 to $21 per hour.
Responsibilities
Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals.
Operate robotic welding equipment.
Rotate through departments to assist with different tasks, including cleaning and operating machinery.
Read and interpret blueprints for welding projects.
Ensure high-quality welds and adherence to safety standards.
Collaborate with team members and assist other departments as needed.
Set up and operate brake press machines.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
Experience with robotic welding equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Familiarity with brake press and press brake operations.
Knowledge of quality standards in welding and fabrication.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with fabrication and press operations.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Initiative and willingness to assist other departments.

Work Environment
This position is in a job shop setting with around 40 employees. The facility includes lasers, CNC machines, brake press machines, and various drilling machines. The shop can get hot, but we have fans and open doors during the summer for air circulation. It's a clean environment for a metal shop, but expect your clothes to get dirty. Steel-toed boots/shoes are required, and we recommend wearing dark-colored tops to avoid damage from steel dust. Jeans should not be too holey, baggy, or saggy. Please park in the designated employee parking lot and arrive early to complete the necessary screening before your shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BYRON CENTER, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
