NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Design Drafter in BUTTE, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Drafting or similar field of study or equivalent years of experience; Spring 2025 graduates are encouraged to apply
- Proficient with CAD systems and related products
- Previous experience with drafting and CAD systems
- Required to possess certain skills such as analytical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to pay particular attention to details, good time management skills
- Software involved to include AutoCAD, Civil3D, Raster Design, Adept, Microsoft Office
- Willing to work in a team environment and communicate well with others
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Knowledge with Microsoft products
- Ability to work all required hours, may include evenings and weekends in response to acute services
- Ability to lift and manipulate a box of drafting materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a minimal basis
- Ability to do minimal travel to training, conferences, and with engineers to off-site work areas to verify drawings ( up to 10% per year)
- Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare drawings with direction of engineering staff to utilize for construction purposes
- Assist engineers with analyzing and reviewing drawings and sketches to ensure accuracy
- Modify and edit drawings and designs to drafts from notes, sketches and/or oral instructions while utilizing and applying drafting techniques and standards
- Utilize engineering document management software
- Adept for document control Support engineers, field technicians and others with various document requests
- Draft post construction drawing markups and return in-service drawings back into the Adept system
- Continually improve standard designs with guidance from engineers, field technicians and management
- Scan, print, file and retrieve documents
- Train new drafters on standard processes to ensure consistency
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$22.02 to $40.09 per hour, depending on experience.
