We're seeking a dynamic and friendly individual to join our Valley Natural Foods team as apart-timeProduce Customer Service employee. As the face of our produce department, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have an exceptional shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers and offer assistance in selecting the freshest fruits and vegetables.
Provide expert advice on produce selection, preparation, and storage to enhance our customers' culinary experiences.
Keep the produce displays fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing throughout the day.
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and rotating incoming produce shipments to maintain freshness and quality.
Address customer inquiries, resolve concerns, and handle special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and safe working environment, including adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies
Remove trash promptly, clean up spills, sweep floor as needed
Keep department equipment in working order and advise Produce Manager of equipment problems
Attend Produce staff meetings and other assigned training requirements
Identify self as an employee by being in VNF attire and name tag
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
Excellent time management, organizational and communication (oral, aural, and written) skills
Attentive and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
Regular, predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous customer service experience
Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently; 30-50+ pounds occasionally
Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and utilize hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
General range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment for extended periods of time
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Regular exposure to working in refrigerated environments
Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
