The Microelectronics (E) Product Line performs cutting-edge microelectronics research in its Science & Technology (S&T) area and delivers advanced microelectronic products in its three Development & Production areas that advance mission capabilities across commercial and defense applications. We are seeking a technology leader to join our S&T area to lead the Microelectronic Devices Technical Group. The candidate will lead a team to engage with external and internal customers to build, win, and execute programs that support the research and development of semiconductor devices, materials, and sensors. They are expected to leverage their position, reputation, and technical expertise to build and maintain relationships with government S&T organizations such as OUSD, DARPA, etc. Additionally, the candidate is expected to define and advance the Microelectronic Devices technical and programmatic roadmaps within the S&T area. The Microelectronic Devices Technical Group Lead is responsible for:
Developing the portfolio strategy, with a research and development growth strategy
Operating as Principal Investigator or Program Manager for program(s) within the portfolio, setting technical/programmatic direction and guiding teams in executing complex research projects that regularly involving multiple technical fields
Growing the next generation of technology development managers and scientists through mentoring
Aligning external customer goals with internal business expectations for successful delivery of business salient
Collaborating with business areas to strategically align CRAD efforts with future programs of record
Other duties and responsibilities as required
This position reports directly to the Director of Microelectronics S&T and can be based out of our Burlington, MA; Lexington, MA; or Merrimack, NH facilities, though it will require collaboration with staff across our business areas and facilities in the Northeast.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format , with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typical Education - Bachelor s Degree with 12 years of professional experience, Master s Degree with 10 years of professional experience, or Doctorate with 8 years of professional experience.
Active DoD SECRET clearance and ability to obtain TOP SECRET SCI & SAP
Experience in leading teams to solve complex technical problems
Experience in new business capture, such as proposal writing and managing proposal efforts
Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to perform a wide variety of related tasks, and exceptional oral and written skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical research to large audiences
Technical knowledge in one of the following areas: semiconductor devices, materials, ferroelectrics, MEMS sensors
Understanding of defense microelectronics markets as well as S&T customer
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance and ability to obtain SCI & SAP
Demonstrated success in leading the capture of DoD S&T opportunities.
Experience executing and supervising the execution of research and development programs.
Practical understanding of product development and the DoD product development lifecycle.
Ability to build and maintain relationships within business areas and customer community.
Proven ability to lead a diverse and complex organization across multiple sites.
Ability to define, develop, and maintain critical skills in support of the business.
Highly experienced in facilitation and cross-organization communications.
Experience with resource planning, staff development, and management reporting.
Exceptional ability to allocate and assign resources to technical tasks and manage the resources toward efficient utilization.
Proven performance in management, mentoring, coaching and communication skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decision-making abilities.
Experience in reviewing and approving Basis of Estimates and proposals including assessment of associated risks and opportunities.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
