Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week.

Description of Duties:

Buiding Management: -Oversee the maintenance and repair of the building, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems. -Coordinate and supervise external contractors and vendors for building services and repairs. -Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues. -Manage the security systems, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response protocols. -Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. -Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend the life of building systems and reduce downtime. -Performs other relevant tasks as assigned. Tenant Relations: -Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants regarding building-related issues and concerns. -Ensure timely and effective communication with tenants about maintenance schedules, repairs, and other building-related matters. -Address tenant complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally. -Assist in the coordination of tenant move-ins and move-outs, ensuring a smooth transition process. -Performs other relevant tasks as assigned. Operational Efficiency: -Develop and manage the building operations budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities. -Implement energy efficiency initiatives to reduce utility costs and promote sustainability. -Maintain accurate records of building operations, maintenance activities, and service contracts. -Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure alignment of operational and financial goals. -Performs other relevant tasks as assigned. Emergency Management: -Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures and disaster recovery plans. -Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions for tenants and staff. -Respond to building emergencies, such as power outages, water leaks, or security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption. -- Performs other relevant tasks as assigned. Administrative Management: -Assists the Executive Director in finding and applying for extramural funds to support building activities. Proactively suggestions processes, systems, and consultants to continual improve cost efficiency. -Develops strategic plans to expand building services and programs. -Provides meaningful and relevant recommendations to the Executive Director on strategic direction. -Performs other relevant tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: -PhD or MS in the life sciences, or a related field. - 1-5 years of experience in building management or facilities operations, preferably in a biotechnology or technology-focused environment. -Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations. -Must have previous experience working at a life science start-up. -Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite. -Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants, contractors, and staff. -High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
