Materion Corporatiom 2nd Shift Vacuum Melt Technician in Brewster, New York
The Vacuum Melt Technician is responsible for the maintenance, setup, and operation of vacuum melters and tube furnaces to melt and cast pure metals and alloys into plates/ingots. In this role you will also:Follow production orders and instructions and weigh and prepare materials for vacuum meltingWork with the Process Engineer to develop procedures for vacuum melting new materialsClean and evaluate vacuum melted partsMaintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance as scheduledFollows safety, quality, and productivity guidelines.REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or GEDOne year of industrial training and three months related experienceAbility to add, subtract, multiply, divide and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, with ability to compute percentVision abilities required by this job include close vision and color visionThe selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from approval for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
Minimum Salary: 22.50 Maximum Salary: 31.80 Salary Unit: Hourly
