Job Summary

The Ski and Snowboard School Location Manager is responsible for leading the operation of either Adult or Children’s Programs at a specific base location. The scope of this role is large and varied and includes responsibilities of the daily, seasonal and yearly operational processes within the school. This is achieved through a disciplined focus on quality control, guest relations, sales generation, staff performance development, financial responsibility, communication, teamwork, administrative duties and self-development. All of these elements contributing in a significant way to the overall quality of the guest and employee experience at their location and School wide. You will be responsible for managing program issues relating to instructor pay, guest complaints, and system efficiency. You will manage growth and expense of programs, and will oversee daily instructor line-up. You will work with the Director, General Manager, Training manager and Administrative Specialists to ensure all payroll, workers compensation, incident reports, staffing levels, training requirements, inventory levels, disciplinary procedures, hiring and separating procedures and all other administrative functions are managed efficiently and timely. This leadership position is integral to the success of the Ski & Snowboard School.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coach and counsel, motivate and develop supervisors, pros and support staff at their assigned location.

  • Complete supervisor performance appraisals.

  • Uphold and promote PSIA/AASI standards.

  • Oversee maintenance of base areas, locker rooms and on hill facilities.

  • Implements and holds staff accountable to both Ski & Snowboard School & Company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure supervisory staff is effectively controlling instructor and support team staffing levels in order to ensure the highest quality of guest service is provided.

  • Resolve guest complaints by utilizing guest service guidelines accommodating special requests when appropriate.

  • Communicate and work with other departments to create an environment of support and trust that will benefit staff and guests.

  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance of day to day supplies and program tools for inside and outside set up.

  • Adhere to and model the Company’s mission, vision and values.

  • Actively engage and participate in Company sponsored Leadership Development programs and opportunities.

  • Contribute to the development of future strategic initiatives.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred

  • Current PSIA/AASI certification required

  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • English, fluency in both written and verbal

  • Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment

  • Must have excellent guest service and communication skills

  • Must work well in a team

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, weekdays, evenings, & holidays

  • Offers may be contingent upon a post offer background check and reference checks

Preferred

  • Current PSIA/AASI Level 2/3 certification or equivalent

  • Children Specialist 2 certification or equivalent (Kids Manager)

  • Prior experience working with children (Kids Manager)

  • RPOS experience

  • College degree / experience in relevant field

The expected pay range is $62,000 - $69,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
