Shift: Afternoon Shift Available
Monday to Thursday: between 4:00 pm to 2:30 am
Training to be completed on day shift Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure parts and components are visually acceptable and dimensions meet requirements outlined in process sheets or diagrams;
Mount and dress the required grinding wheel for the manual grinder(s)
Complete in-process and final process quality checks, as required, using micrometers, gauges, etc
Use various hand tools as required.
Set appropriate magnetic check or related job to hold components securely for grinding operation
Check provided drawings to verify machining dimensions
Maintaining clean work station and general shop housekeeping
Interprets sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances for their specific operation, sequence of operation, and setup requirements.
Operate an overhead crane to lift and set pieces that they feel are heavy.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and grinding wheels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of experience in a similar role
Knowledge in the areas of interpreting detailed and complex drawings, specifications and tolerances
Knowledge of machine shop setting preferred
Strong ability to effectively operate and maintain machining equipment ensuring that high standards of quality are achieved in an effective and cost efficient manner.
