Job Summary
The Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI) is a joint institute between CU Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) addressing important and complex problems in energy and sustainability that often require multidisciplinary or multi-institutional approaches. In cooperation with the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, RASEI seeks to fill one tenure-track faculty position at the associate or full professor level. Academic and tenure home will be with the Department of Chemical and Biological engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

RASEI (pronounced RAY-see) is a joint institute between the CU Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) addressing meaningful, multifaceted problems in energy that require a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional approach. Our mission is to expedite solutions that transform energy by advancing renewable energy science, engineering, and analysis through research, education, and industry partnerships.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Successful candidates will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, contribute professional leadership and service, and develop a vigorous, externally funded research program in their technical area that synergizes with others in the University of Colorado system. The typical effort distribution for tenure-track faculty is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service.
What We Can Offer
Annual salary range is $130,000- $175,000.
A relocation stipend is available.
Joint appointments with NREL, and shared laboratory spaces are also possible for candidates whose R&D interests align well with NREL's research missions.

What We Require
- Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or expect to have completed their Ph.D. in the following area of chemical and biological engineering, chemistry or a related field.
