Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

GE Energy Management Services LLC seeks Senior Software Engineer – Electrical Power Systems (multiple positions) to be responsible for advanced Power Systems Application software development and successful delivery of assigned functions to meet corporate project/product commitments. Act as a member and leader in Software Center of Excellence, representing the face of high-quality design and development practices. Implement new functionalities in power system application software which includes WAMS (Wide Area Management Systems) and GSA (Grid Stability Assessment) applications.

Provide maintenance of power systems application functionality, including code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces. Collaborate with system/project engineers, frontend developers and WAMS and GSA application developers to implement solutions that are aligned with product direction. Consult with other technical leads to ensure that project-related system design guidelines are being followed. Responsible for writing WAMS Functional Software Designs. Provide input to technical lead on schedules and cost estimates. Interface with customers on general and specific issues within area of functional expertise. Provide marketing support for proposals and demonstrations to potential customers.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent, with thesis work, in Electrical

Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of development or project delivery

experience in a related field. The position also requires 3 years of work and/or academic experience in power systems; 2 years of experience with programming skills in C++, .NET and/or Java or other related language; 3 years of experience with database operation; and 3 years of experience with synchrophasor applications. Telecommuting is permitted for this role. When not telecommuting, must report to offices in Bothell, WA.

The salary range for this position is $155,500 - $182,160. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience and their education.
