Dynatrace Data Governance Lead (Remote, United States) in Boston, Massachusetts

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Governance Lead to drive development and implementation of a robust data governance framework. This role will drive governance efforts, ensuring policies are effectively implemented and embedded across the organization.
The lead will be responsible for operationalizing and leading data governance initiatives including metadata management strategy and driving cross-functional adoption of best practices, working closely with BI and governance teams to refine policies and procedures on data security, access and quality.
This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment, enabling a scalable, well-governed data ecosystem that empowers teams to make confident, data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance Framework & Policies : Improve and Implement policies, ensuring adoption and monitoring compliance
Metadata Management & Data Catalog : Establish metadata practices, oversee data classification, tagging and lineage and provide support on the data catalog. Provide training on best practices
Data Roles & Responsibilities : Refine and implement data roles (owners, stewards, custodians), ensure alignment and foster a collaborative governance culture through stewardship meetings and communication
Project Management & Collaboration : Lead governance initiatives, track deliverables and report on progress. Work across the governance teams and stakeholder groups to align on projects, policies and procedures
Reporting & Metrics : Develop dashboards to track governance KPIs, report on metrics and analysis
Training & Documentation : Create and deliver training programs and documentation
Candidates who live within a 45 mile radius of Boston, MA/Detroit, MI/Denver, CO/Mountain View, CA will be required to work hybrid out of this office. All other candidates are allowed to work remotely. All candidates will be required to work EST hours.

What will help you succeed
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years in data governance with leadership experience
Preferred Requirements:
10+ years of experience in enterprise data (BI, data management, operations, or program management)
Masters Degree
Proven ability to develop and implement governance frameworks, policies and standards
Experience in data stewardship, metadata management, master data management and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA)
Strong knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence
Proficiency in data management and visualization tools (Snowflake, Power BI preferred)
Experience with data governance and data catalog tools (DataHub is a plus)
Deep understanding of data governance principles, practices and technologies
Governance/data management certification (CDMP, GDSP) is a plus
Strong project, operations and process management skills
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to clearly convey governance concepts
Proven ability to engage, influence and lead cross-functional teams, including executives
Ability to develop and deliver training on governance practices
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on driving business value

Compensation Data
DOE, salary $140K - $160K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO. Total compensation may vary depending on candidate experience/education and location.
