Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Student Tuition and Billing Business Systems Analyst – Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Banner Student Accounts Receivable, specifically focusing on student tuition and billing services within the TBS department.

  • Manage and configure rules and processes within Banner Student Accounts Receivable.

  • Collaborate with functional offices to analyze business needs and optimize Banner configurations for efficient operations within the TBS department.

  • Perform quality control between Banner and Workday for reconciliation of reports and data exchange within the TBS department.

  • Develop and implement critical, rule-based configurations of Banner Student Accounts Receivable within complex, interrelated systems in the TBS department.

  • Troubleshoot any issues within the TBS department.

  • Develop reports and extract data as needed, ensuring alignment with business process requirements using Power BI within the TBS department.

  • Train users on the proper usage of Banner and Power BI reporting capabilities and develop documentation as necessary within the TBS department.

  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic environment within the TBS department.

  • Utilize SQL for database queries and source version control systems for efficient workflow management within the TBS department.

  • Work with FAU's IT department on system upgrades, patches, projects, and reviewing all new releases to ensure implementation by central IT.

  • Collaborate with FAU’s IT department to further automate and streamline workflows and processes that impact Tuition and Billing.

  • Perform other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned by leadership/management.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least one year of progressive experience; or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of two years of progressive experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.

Proficiency in technical troubleshooting and expertise in writing and validating SQL queries and reports.

Ability to gather requirements from diverse sources and conduct data analysis.

Effective communication skills, capable of providing instructions and training suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Exceptional customer service skills with a proactive and optimistic mindset, coupled with a diligent work ethic.

Basic understanding of Power BI for enhancing reporting capabilities.

Knowledge of Workday and Banner integrations.

Prior Accounts Receivable system experience.

Proficiency in Banner Student Accounts Receivable and Financial Aid functionalities, particularly focusing on Banner forms related to financial aid, refund distributions, and other aspects of student tuition and billing processes.

Knowledge of higher education administrative processes related to student tuition and billing.

Expertise in optimizing applications for peak performance, process streamlining, and automation.

Experience in managing projects from inception to completion, including developing project plans, coordinating timelines, and ensuring objectives are met.

Familiarity with change control procedures, compliance, and ensuring software stability and data integrity.

Experience working with 3rd party reporting tools.

Experience working with integrated finance systems.

Salary:

$30.00 an hour.
