Independently lead or participate in execution of major project types related to Lotus Bakeries Partnership, either multiple projects in parallel with phased dead‐ lines, or, medium to large sized RD&Q projects, with 2-3 interfaces outside RD&Q; Projects can vary from brief bench-top scale, through to plant trials and com‐ missioning, including Commissioning, Qualification and Validation (CQV).

How you will contribute

  • Work very closely with BD & Engineering team on projects, be part of design review activities, interact & work with Equipment suppliers on technical solutions

  • Ensure consistency, technical precision and compliance with methods of work.

  • Recommends improvements within department.

  • Independent interpretation of data to deliver results and draw business relevant conclusions. 

  • Effectively structures and presents status updates / proposals to influence partners or share with senior management.

  • Awareness of business partners with focus on network-building.  

  • Requires minimal coaching by direct manager on complex activities, especially business-related topics, or new technical knowledge.

More about this role

What you need to know about this position:

The holder of this position will be accountable for the process R&D aspects within the IIM framework for projects related to the MDLZ-Lotus Bakeries partnership. Projects could cover all platforms, e.g. tablets, seasonals etc. The right person for this role delivers the technical knowledge for the function, develops solutions to problems, whilst ensuring compliance to technical policies & procedures. This will require working in a cross-functional project team working with supply chain, marketing, procurement, suppliers, external manufacturers and other RDQ functions. 

What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • Extensive proven experience workingwithin an RDQ environmentwithin the foodindustry, ideallywithinprocessdevelopmentroles. Experience withinconfectioneryorbakerycategories is an advantage.

  • Good understanding of RDQ product and processspecifications

  • Good knowledge of chocolatecategoryregardingrawmaterials, processing, manufacturing and formulationfundamentals is an advantage.

Education / Certifications:

BEng/MEng/PhD in Chemical Engineering, BSc, MSc or PhD in food science, technology or related field or equivalent experience.

Travel requirements:

You will be required to travel to MDLZ sites, suppliers and external manufacturers as projects require 20% of time

Work schedule:

Full time, Monday-Friday (flexible working available)
