Description:
Assists with a variety of patient care treatment and activities under the direct supervision of Occupational
Therapists, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Speech Language Pathologists, and Athletic
Trainers. Performs inventory, ordering, stocking and maintenance of department supplies and equipment.
The Rehab Tech assist with direct technical patient care procedures throughout the entire span of life as directed by Occupational, Physical Therapy and Speech Language Pathology professional staff to ensure efficient operations. Sets up, monitors, and removes patients on modalities and equipment. Performs therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, activities of daily living, positioning, and vital signs. Assists with PMR physician clinics by rooming patients, assessing vitals, weight, and completing documentation in EPIC. Assists in ambulating patients with assistive devices such as crutches and with transfer/transport procedures. Assists with wound care and hydrotherapy procedures to ensure patient safety. Sets up, monitors, and removes patients from hydrotherapy equipment, pulse lavage, and electrical stimulation. Adheres to infection control procedures by utilizing sterile technique, precautions, and cleaning and maintenance procedures. Assists with fabrication of various splints. Ensures supplies are available by inventorying, stocking, and ordering materials. Assists with fabrication of splints by drawing and cutting patterns, heating, bonding, and molding splint material, padding, and strapping.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education Required : High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Minimum Experience Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications Required:
CPR - Basic Life Support
