Director, Digital AppOps

What does a successful Director, Digital AppOps do at Fiserv?

As a member of our Digital AppOps leadership team, you will be responsible for the stability of our Digital business applications spanning multiple retail bank offerings and Cloud Operations (Azure). Your depth of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the Application and Platform Operations lifecycle, as well as partnering continuously with your many stakeholders to stay focused on common goals, is key to your success in this role.

As the owner of a group of platforms leaders/experts you will define strategy to ensure stability/operational availability of large-scale financial systems . You will be empowered to drive continuous improvement within your area of responsibility and influence the direction of the AppOps organization as a whole. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to presenting and advocating for AppOps positions/perspective in various forums, partnering with Delivery/Architects, and liaisoning with Client Services and Product Management to ensure continued focus on delivering quality.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage a Digital AppOps team, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members

  • Establish and maintain operational focused processes that ensure scalable, resilient enterprise platforms

  • Manage AppOps projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget

  • Develop and manage project plans, monitor, and report on project status and ensure that projects adhere to best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Oversee the 24/7 health of the technology platforms

  • Develop and implement a Technology Operations & Support Service strategy for the platforms supported that aligns with the mission and goals of AppOps as a whole

  • Champion the process improvement initiatives across Enterprise Technology Operations and the business to ensure that optimum customer service is obtained

  • Provide technical leadership in implementing and operating shared platforms and critical business applications

What you will need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise scale system using Microsoft Technologies (.NET/ MS SQL/ Azure) , Apigee, Web, Mobile, and Services offerings across on-prem and cloud eco-systems

  • 8 + years of in-depth understanding of high resiliency, scalable, reliable topologies to ensure High Availability and stability of portfolio offerings

  • 6 + years experience in leading large Production Support teams in Banking and Financial domain

  • 6+ years experience working with varied stakeholders from Cyber, compliance, Audit and Sr Leadership

  • 6+ years of proven experience driving a technical team through the design and execution of a DevOps /SRE driven support organization

  • 6+ years experience developing and managing global teams and follow-the-sun support models

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Proficiency with solutions for Web based solutions, Cloud Services as well as n-tier enterprise platforms

  • Experience with Cloud Migration of Legacy Applications/platforms, transformation, system integration or conversions

  • Superb client service skills with both creative and analytical mind-set, and when interfacing with irate clients/constituents

  • Mature disposition and personable; able to work well within teams across continents/time zones
