Google Software Engineer, Engineering Productivity, Silicon in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Science and Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in software development.

  • Experience with software development in C/C++, Python, SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, or related fields.

  • Experience in front-end technologies like TypeScript, Angular, etc.

  • Knowledge of product life cycles, tools, processes, and operations planning.

  • Knowledge of Cloud Services, Android, or embedded systems.

In this role, you will work with the Engineering Productivity team in India with focus on delivering productivity platforms and artifacts for a global Silicon Software team. You will focus on a wide aperture of software development problems from front-end to back-end and infrastructure development for high availability services.

Google Silicon's Software Engineering Productivity team identifies the largest areas for impact and implements tools that make the large and growing Silicon Software team more effective. The Silicon organization is an incredibly important area for Google's future. There are huge opportunities to create tools that positively impact the entire Silicon organization and sometimes multiple Product Areas (PAs).

  • Design creative solutions to complex problems, write organized, clean, and maintainable code with minimal assistance.

  • Develop innovative solutions for Engineering productivity Software components with focus on scale, high availability, quality, and usage of Google infrastructure.

  • Simplify the setup and maintenance of Continuous Integration (CI), code coverage, power, and performance analysis.

  • Improve development efficiency across the silicon organization and possibly Google-wide through tooling improvements.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the development process and influence the technical decisions.
