Job Description

Oracle's Autonomous Database on Dedicated architecture provides the customer a private database cloud in the public cloud. Oracle's cloud@customer brings Oracle's fully managed service into the customer's data center, thereby maintaining complete control of their data and thus addresses data sovereignty, security, and connectivity concerns. Autonomous Database on Dedicated infrastructure is an enterprise grade cloud service, and is being rapidly adopted by Oracle's premier customers.

We are looking for passionate and result-oriented candidates to join the growing service team. The service team works on all aspects of the service: from design and development to support and automation of day to day operations. You will become a part of the team involved in multiple high-profile projects with high visibility across the Oracle development organization. Your responsibilities will include design and development of the code that underpins autonomous database service and enablement of database features on the service, as well as taking part in day to day operations of the service and coming up with ways to improve the service offering as well as the devops process.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience with at least 2 years in Cloud technologies

  • Experience working with Cloud infrastructure APIs, REST API model, and developing REST APIs

  • Cloud architecture / solution such as OCI, AWS, Azure or GCP

  • Strong database management knowledge and understanding of database eco-system

  • Good database administration knowledge and hands-on experience. Competency in auxiliary database skill areas such as backup-recovery, data protection, data availability.

  • Design large, scalable, and resilient systems

  • Competency in programming with Python, PERL or Java

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and related domains.

  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

  • Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules

  • Experience with continuous deployment tools (e.g., Teamcity, Jenkins)

  • Ability to quickly pick up new languages and technologies

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies, specifically Scrum

  • Self-driven, able to work independently on a project even while the design is evolving

  • Strong desire to stay on top of new technologies and services

  • Passionate about learning

  • Strong communication skills, including cross-team collaboration

  • Ability to deliver basic functionality and iterate

  • Development experience in Python or Perl (back-end)
