Oracle Linux Release Engineer in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

Here is an opportunity to be a part of the Oracle Exadata Cloud delivery team that is striving to ensure the highest levels of availability and reliability for Oracle’s Database Cloud Services running on top of Exadata Engineered System infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/BS degree or equivalent

  • 7-10+ years of experience in Linux System Administration / Development / QA roles with a thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle

  • Excellent knowledge of Linux System administration activities

  • A very good understanding of Linux kernel internals, Server Virtualization, Networking & Security layer

  • Hands-on experience in automation of system administration activities

  • Hands on experience in building OS images and testing based on standard test framework.

  • Proven ability to triaging and resolve issues during patch testing & certification

  • Experience in OEM, Linux OS Patching, Yum, KSplice, etc.

  • Excellent Scripting skills in Bash, Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages

  • Any experience in IO subsystem, Operating Systems, Storage technologies would be a definite plus

  • Can-do attitude with high interest in learning new technologies and how to function in a multi-dimensional team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experienced with multiple software development methodologies, with an emphasis and passion for Agile delivery process

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization and across multiple technical and non-technical groups.

  • Proven ability to handle internal and external-facing engagements.

  • A can do attitude with a willingness to take on challenging tasks and the ability to multitask effectively across multiple areas of responsibilities.

  • Can prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of the project.

Responsibilities

In this role,

  • You will be responsible for key deliverables that would help improve the quality and reliability of Oracle Cloud services and streamline Life Cycle Management activities for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

  • You will be interacting with Development, Sustaining, DevOps, QA & Support teams to quickly investigate and mitigate the problems impacting customers at various levels in the Oracle Database and Engineered Systems technology stack

  • You will be responsible to identify risk factors in the release process, and resolving / mitigating them by automation
