Google Software Engineer, Data Science and Engineering (English) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

  • Ability to communicate in English fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in English with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

  • Experience building APIs used by other Software Engineering teams.

  • Experience with Search technologies (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Go, etc).

  • Experience with UX development.

  • Experience with logs incremental pipelines that can process data continuously.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Support critical client requests implementing solutions to increase their velocity.

  • Support onboarding new clients (e.g., Google Lens integration).

  • Work with PM/DS/UXR to understand user needs, conceive and create features that address them.

  • Contribute to design, develop and maintain data pipelines/algorithms that process user logs near real time for sending surveys to Google users.

  • Review surveys and develop automated processes to protect users’ privacy.
